I wish I would have known more about postpartum depression then. I wish I would have tried harder to be a better friend to her. I remember the friends in our circle shunning her for her behavior.

Regular exercise can increase self-confidence, relax you, and lower the symptoms of mild depression and anxiety. It can also improve your sleep which we moms all need.

When I first started on my adult journey I had all these grand ideas. All these amazing things I wanted to do. The one common denominator was that they all required money. Go figure, right?

At least I try. When it comes to my mom yoga wear – I can’t even believe I’m officially “that” mom. We all know we have an entire wardrobe of fitness attire!

I don’t know your struggle. This doesn’t mean I don’t care about it. I am glad to listen, should you chose to tell me. What it means is, I don’t have the experience of your life to put this moment in context. Without meaning this to be dismissive, I frankly don’t see “the struggle” as the total of your life’s story. And while it may be real, my struggle isn’t all of my story.

My intent here is more or less a PSA about the second thing I learned: Irish folks really cannot stand when Americans say St. Patty’s Day on St. Patrick’s Day.

Our culture has kind of latched on to this “decluttering mania” and “throw out forty bags in forty days for lent” kind of mentality that can lead to a big sense of failure. I don’t want that for you.

In recent years Barbie has been all about dolls made to represent badass females. I’m not just talking about Wonder Woman and Rey, or the gorgeous new collectible series from A Wrinkle in Time, either.
