First Day Packets, Again
I hate filling out the bottomless first-day packets for sure, but that shouldn’t be enough to stress me out—it does seem unnecessary however in this digital day and age.

My son starts high school this week. There are some big moments ahead. But I think he’s ready for this big new adventure.
After spending a whole nine months being immersed in the amniotic fluid you’d think babies would naturally love water. But what if your baby hates water?
My son wouldn’t meet my eyes but I could see the tears in his, “It doesn’t matter,” he said. But I heard him, it did matter.
I’m working on appreciating the child rearing rapids more, secure in the knowledge that moments of calm are ahead. I know there is beauty in both.
My school supply shopping standards have dropped considerably as my children have aged. They haven’t noticed…but I’m starting to.
On some days, my Facebook Memories seem to suggest that I am crappy mom. On others, I am awesome. Facebook tells me that too.
There are grooves and waves of the universe’s plan, and as much as it IS necessary to have goals, it’s also completely needed to be open to the “non-plan.”
I suspect Sprout sees me as a lost cause. He views me as Little Bird’s parent and Daddy as “his” parent.
Some men wouldn’t have been enthusiastic about it. Some men would have said, “thanks but no thanks”. Some men wouldn’t be patient, kind and understanding about what it REALLY means to date a woman with a small child. Or even marry one.
