I Didn’t Love My Son Right Away
When my first son was born, it took me a while to love him. I have to pause now and sit with that for a minute. I didn’t feel love for my firstborn son.

When my first son was born, it took me a while to love him. I have to pause now and sit with that for a minute. I didn’t feel love for my firstborn son.

I used to be a mom who kept a very clean house. But after kid two, and then kid three, I had to learn to let some things go.

Being a mom is HARD. Really hard. And sometimes you can feel like you’ve got nothing left to give. But you have to power through it.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE Disney, but this time, when we went to visit Orlando with our toddlers, we wanted to try something different.

I took off on my family for a few days to travel solo and went to the most bizarre places—places with seemingly no connection to me—Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (with a side excursion north of Prince Albert) and Edmonton, Alberta.

We’re good enough at guilting ourselves, for not being there, for not paying attention, for holding down a full-time job. We don’t need it from other moms.

Life has taught me a lot. And I hope that I can pass some of those lessons to my children: especially when it comes to choosing a life partner.

Yes, I know you have invited me out for drinks with the group

Following a gluten-free diet at home can feel like a challenge in and of itself, but hitting the road on a gluten-free diet can seem downright intimidating.

My social feed is FULL of people who have decided to take a “break” from social media “for their mental health.” I call bull$hit.
