I Thought The Terrible Twos Weren’t So Bad: I Was WRONG
Remember me? I’m the one who wrote to tell you all about the not-so-terrible-two’s a few months ago. I’m back to apologize because…I LIED.

Remember me? I’m the one who wrote to tell you all about the not-so-terrible-two’s a few months ago. I’m back to apologize because…I LIED.

Two of my kids are transitioning to new schools this years. They’re not anxious about academics, they’re worried about losing friends.

Grocery shopping with kids goes through several stages – from wishful thinking “this won’t be too bad” to “OH MY GOODNESS WHAT WAS I THINKING” very quickly.

Now it’s Senior Year and at times it’s going to feel like you won’t make it through. Of course we will! (This is my second time so I know it’s doable).

My point today is that not EVERY situation requires intervention. We want to grow responsible, compassionate humans. To fail is to grow.

I watched teary-eyed when baby Jack on This Is Us was placed in the NICU. In an instant, I was transported back two years to when my own baby was born.

There are many feelings associated with parenting: joy, anxiety, love, and even fear.

Parenting a child with ADHD can feel a bit like you’re walking in the dark—you tiptoe around, unsure of what you will come up against. Sometimes you may say or do something to set off a mini emotional explosion.

I adore this photo. I also hate this photo. I don’t just see my kids. I see a me so much heavier than I had ever had been before.

Before the kids have moved out completely, I’ve decided to try to start preparing for an empty nest – when it’s just my husband and me at home.
