Holiday Mason Jar Cookies with Mo Rose

The holidays can be a hectic time and sometimes you just need to slow it down and give it the personal touch. Mo Rose has provided RealityMoms with this fantastic recipe to make your own Holiday Mason Jar Cookies to share with your friends and family!

Holiday Mason Jar Cookies (recipe per jar)

  • 1 Quart Mason Jar
  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup holiday M&Ms
  • 3/4 cups chocolate chips (white, dark or milk)
  • Festive Ribbon

IN THE MASON JAR combine the flour, baking soda and salt in the bottom of a 1-quart mason jar. Tap the jar several times firmly to get the flour mixture in one layer. Press it down as much as possible. Next, add in the brown sugar and pack down as much as possible. Next, add in the white sugar and again pack that down. Carefully add in the M&Ms, then layer chocolate chips on top. Seal mason jar and place “How-To” Label on top. Adorn with ribbon, material or any other festive décor.

How-to Label should have the following:

  • 3/4 cup (1 and 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

(Click for printable labels for the jars and for the tags.)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat butter, egg and vanilla extract in large mixing bowl until blended. Add mason jar mix and mix well. Drop in rounded tablespoons onto parchment lined baking sheets. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until lightly golden brown. Cool on baking rack. Enjoy!
