Reality Moms and Real Mom Media has proudly partnered with The Tuckerton Seaport in Tuckerton, New Jersey for the past seven years. It has been such an awesome experience for us to watch them grow by leaps and bounds! This family fun place in New Jersey brings so much to their community. When Superstorm Sandy happened on the Jersey Shore, the Seaport was there for families displaced by the disaster in 2012. For many years after the hurricane, Tuckerton Seaport fed their community around the holidays as it became a community center point where everyone came together. They held the event all the way till 2016. Amazing, right? It was a great sight to see.
This year, they continue their tradition of giving by opening up a Little Free Library! Brooke Salvanto, the Museum Director has been instrumental in everything at the Seaport and the excitement she has for this little library is infectious! Today (November 25th) the grand opening of the Little Free Library at Tuckerton Seaport happens. The Little Free Library, located on the Visitor Center front porch provides a neighborhood sharing program for book lovers of all ages.
According to the Department of Education, 61% of families do not have access to books in their homes. Can you believe that alarming statistic? We can’t. Heartbreaking to say the least. However, having an outstanding community center like Tuckerton Seaport is a blessing at the Jersey Shore! The Little Free Library Program is a new outlet for the Seaport to help fulfill its goal of supporting their community by inspiring the next generation. They truly believe in the joy and power of sharing books.
Can you tell how much we love them? Words can’t even describe the greatness that they are. We hope you take a trip to the Jersey Shore for a visit anytime of year. Whether it’s to drop off new or gently loved books or to visit ‘Truck’erton food truck events! We personally plan to visit Christkindlmarkt happening December 1-3rd at the Seaport. They have a New Year’s Day event that will totally kick off the best of your new year! It’s called Fire and Ice. Food trucks galore, fireworks and more!
